School History

Makuhari Senior High School opend in 1983 in the coastal town of Makuhari in Chiba prefecture as a three-year, private secondary school.

With the concept of a six-year integrated educational system in mind, Makuhari Junior High School was established on the campus in 1986, creating a six-year, coeducational college preparatory school providing accelerated courses for students aiming at higher education after high school graduation.

Location

Thanks to the foresight of our founder, Mr. Tamura,Makuhari Junior and Senior High School enjoys a large campus in a prime location with easy access to Tokyo and Narita International Airport.

The Makuhari area has been developing rapidly since the conception of a prefectural project to create a major international center near the metropolis of Tokyo.

Home of the "Messe" Convention Center, the site of numerous trade fairs and international events, the Makuhati Development Project area has become popular for its hotels, restaurants, and shopping, as well as its many cultural and educational institutions.

Along with Makuhari Junior and Senior High School, educational institutes in the area include the National University of Broadcasting Education, the Chiba Prefectural Education Center, Kanda University of International Studies, a prefectural general high school, two public junior high schools, three public elementary schools, and one other private secondary school.

There are many parks and green spaces interspersed among the office buildings, schools, and shopping areas. Makuhari Junior and Senior High School is within walking distance of three train lines.
