Shibuya Kyoiku Gakuen Makuhari Senior High School was founded in 1983. It was built in the Makuhari new urban district of Chiba Prefecture as a private, co-educational school to prepare students who will play active roles in the 21st century. Three years later, in 1986, Makuhari Junior High school was established with the aim of creating a “unified junior and senior high school educational program focused on valuing each student in order to cultivate persons of individuality.”
April 1983 | Shubuya Kyoiku Gakuen Makuhari Senior High School opened. Tetsuo Tamura was inaugurated as the first principal. |
April 1986 | Shubuya Kyoiku Gakuen Makuhari Junior High School opened. |
March 1986 | Science building is completed. |
January 2004 | Seminar building is completed. |
March 2004 | Shubuya Kyoiku Gakuen Makuhari Senior High School associated Junior High School changes its name to Shibuya kyoiku Gakuen Makuhari Junior and High School. |
April 2006 | Opening ceremony for artificial-turf sports ground |
January 2010 | Designated as UNESCO Associated School |
April 2013 | Construction of new library building(30th Memorial Tower) completed |
April 2014 | Designated as a Super Global High School(SGH) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology |
February 2017 | Construction of the 4th ground completed |
July 2018 | Hosting of Water is Life, an international student conference |
April 2022 | Toshiaki Tamura was inaugurated as the second principal. |
