The next two years, “Block B,” is when students are encouraged to deepen their understanding about their interests and themselves. Cross-cultural exchange programs through overseas study tours are planned during Block B. This allows students to realistically think about how they want to be part of society based on their own experiences. “Block C” is the final two years of high school when students take concrete steps on their future paths. Instead of choosing a path that is purely based on their academic abilities, students research and narrow down their options for universities and departments while thinking about what they truly want to learn and do in the future. In the 2nd year of high school, students can add more perspective to their outlook in an international society through their capstone trip to China. This allows them to deepen their understanding of themselves to create more specific options for their futures. During this year, we also encourage them to visit open houses at schools to develop clear images of the future world with themselves in it.

GLFC Program
We offer a great variety of “GLFC” programs so that students can think about what kind of talent is expected to be needed in the future and can choose their own path out of many options. “GLFC” stands for “Globalism,” which is the school’s educational goal; “Leadership,” which is expected from our students; “Foresight,” which is looking towards the future; and, “Curiosity” which is a necessary form of inspiration.
We have programs where students visit external institutions or lecturers visit us to speak. We encourage students to be conscious of careers by listening to real life stories from university-related personnel and professionals from a variety of fields. This program is mainly offered to students during “Block B” because these are the calmest and best suited two years during their six-year education to think deeply about society and themselves. Since there is no grade separation for these programs, junior and senior high school students may have discussions together.

At Shibuya Makuhari, taking advantage of integrated junior and senior high school education, we divide the 6-year education into 3 blocks every 2 years, and create a career education plan according to each division.

["post-2157","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
