Shibuya Kyoiku Gakuen Makuhari Senior High School was founded in 1983. It was built in the Makuhari new urban district of Chiba Prefecture as a private, co-educational school to prepare students who will play active roles in the 21st century. Three years later, in 1986, Makuhari Junior High school was established with the aim of creating a \u201cunified junior and senior high school educational program focused on valuing each student in order to cultivate persons of individuality.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
April 1983<\/td>\nShubuya Kyoiku Gakuen Makuhari Senior High School opened. Tetsuo Tamura was inaugurated as the first principal.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
April 1986<\/td>\nShubuya Kyoiku Gakuen Makuhari Junior High School opened.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
March 1986<\/td>\nScience building is completed.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
January 2004<\/td>\nSeminar building is completed.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
March 2004<\/td>\nShubuya Kyoiku Gakuen Makuhari Senior High School associated Junior High School changes its name to Shibuya kyoiku Gakuen Makuhari Junior and High School.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
April 2006<\/td>\nOpening ceremony for artificial-turf sports ground<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
January 2010<\/td>\nDesignated as UNESCO Associated School\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
April 2013<\/td>\nConstruction of new library building(30th Memorial Tower) completed<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
April 2014<\/td>\nDesignated as a Super Global High School(SGH) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
February 2017<\/td>\nConstruction of the 4th ground completed<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
July 2018<\/td>\nHosting of Water is Life, an international student conference<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
