The Curriculum at Makuhari Junior and Senior High School<\/em><\/h3>\n

At Makuhari Junior and Senior High School, we focus on core academic abilities, then cultivate independent thought and creativity on that basis. We institute a six-day school week at both Makuhari Junior and Senior High School, dividing the day into six classes (four classes on Saturday) of 50 minutes each. Moreover, we foster the benefi ts of an integrated Junior and Senior High School program to eliminate overlap between the Junior and Senior High School levels, enabling more e\ufb00 ective learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
A block
\n\uff08Junior 1st\u30fb2nd\uff09<\/th>\n		It is a period to establish learning methods and habits and to acquire basic academic ability. We will provide small-group education with a class of 35 students or less.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
B block
\n\uff08Junior 3rd\u30fbSenior 1st\uff09<\/th>\n		It is a period to gaze into yourself as an individual and broaden your horizons. Based on the A block, we will develop academic ability and ability to judge and act on our own. Some subjects such as art class are optional.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
C block
\n\uff08Senior 2nd\u30fb3rd\uff09<\/th>\n		It’s a period of time when you have a clear future goal, think about what you should do to achieve it, and impose challenges on yourself. We aim to complete the educational goal of “Ji-chou,Ji-kou”. We have adopted a wide range of subject selection systems so that each student can select subjects according to their aptitude and career path and maximize their potential.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

In terms of subjects, we allocate considerable time to English, Mathematics, Japanese, Science, and Social studies to thoroughly build the basics, and in subjects such as arts and physical education, we will supplement the subject time through special activities. We aim to foster a rich humanity.<\/p>\n

In the curriculum of returnees, we value the sensibilities nurtured in different cultures and aim to further improve their language skills. Our school has a tolerant school culture that accepts diverse values, and it is a daily scene to see students enjoying conversation in English in classrooms and corridors.<\/p>\n

The Syllabus:The Compass of Academia<\/em><\/h3>\n

Across the entire expanse of each year\u2019s study, Makuhari Junior and Senior High School encourages students to understand the signifi cance of their studies, the order in which they pursue them and how those studies progress. It is said that education is at heart a collaboration between student and teacher. Reading the syllabus composed by teachers enables students and teachers to coordinate their educational goals, so that students can get the most out of their education.<\/em><\/p>\n
