　This day，having hopes and dreams for the future，we are entering "shibuya Makuhari Junior High School". It is very nervous to be standing here，but also very honorable being the representative of the first year students．I am excited that I can study with every one of my new friends at this school．

I was living in the United States for about 6 years and of course I learned English there but I also learned that there were many different people in the world．

　People have different color eyes，hair，skin，and they all have different thoughts but they are all same people，and being different from other people is a good thing．I'm sure this school will maintain the importance of this point．

I am very proud right now entering this very international school and I think all of us can be friends．Let's have wonderful time in this school and let's make Japan more international like "Shibu-Maku!"

　春爛漫のこのよき日、私達は幕張高等学校に 入学し、人生の新たな出発を迎えています。

　これからの学枚生活では、人生で最も感受性 が豊かなこの時期に、高校生活の中にある無数の チャンスや可能性を積極的に活用して、様々な物 事に興味を持ち続け、自分の進みたい道を見つけ たいと思います。そして自分で選択した道を全力 で悔いを残さぬように突き進んでいく心構えを常に持って、高 校生活を送る決心です。

　それにはまず、今までの仲間に加えて、新しい仲間とも切磋 琢磨し合う事で、互いの個性を尊重し合い、より一層大きく成 長していきたいと考えています。一方で学校生活だけでなく、社 会にも目を向け、地域社会と関わりを持ち、自分がどのような 役割を担えるかを深く考えたいと思います。とりわけ２１世 紀に向けて国際化が進む中、世界の人々と理解し合い、協力し 合う地球規模の視野を持つことが重要になります。

　自調自考の精神と自由な校風を伝統としている幕張高校に入 学するにあたり、本校の基本精神に基づいて自己を厳しく律し 責任ある行動をとり、かつ、自分の夢を見つけるべく充実した 楽しい高校生活を送ることを約束いたします。

　Masaru Ibuka，the co-founder of SONY，once said,"If you label a person as having only so much ability，you will never bring out his true potential". I wanted to come to this school because I thought it would never judge one's capability by appearances．As it is apparent from the school motto -「自調自考」　"Self Awareness；Self Thinking" - Shibuya Makuhari values students with originality and enthusiasm. It encourages its students to be independent thinkers and dream unbounded. I can't imagine a more ideal environment for a high school. But even in such surroundings you will not be able to reveal your true potential if you label yourself. First and foremost you have to have faith in yourself. So let's believe in ourselves , each other, and this school and strive to reach the greatest heights.
