In 2013, a new library was opened on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Memorial Tower. It is a place that forms the basis of the three educational goals of “Developing the power of Self-Thinking and Self-Awareness,” “An ethically grounded education,” and “Fostering the qualities as internationally-minded individual.” We aim to be a place where you can read, think, and talk with other people, and a “knowledge open space” where the students who spend time there can naturally gain “knowledge.”
At present, the collection of more than 60,000 books is highly specialized, selected from various perspectives. 20% of them are English books. Students who are learning English for the first time in junior high school will continue their extensive English reading programs (such as Oxford Bookworm and Penguin Readers) and will eventually acquire the ability to read the original books.
