Departure Ceremony

We held our customary Departure Ceremony for students in Grades 7, 8, and 10 who
left for their study trips starting on October 11th. After Principal Tamura discussed the
significance of the ceremony and the importance of the study trips, the leaders of each
grade pledged to make the trips meaningful with their great expectations and
aspirations.
The Grade 7 students travel around the Minimi-Boso area. Their leader expressed
how much they were looking forward to the opportunity to gain first-hand experience
in local areas, and how much they all appreciate the support to prepare for the trips
from ShibuMaku.
Our Grade 8 students travel around the Tohoku region. The Grade 8 leader talked
about their cohort’s deep interest in learning about the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and
tsunami, as well as participating in group activities in Tohoku.
The Grade 10 students travel to Hiroshima. Their leader stated that they would use
their trip as an opportunity to think more deeply about peace.
Hope they have a great trip!
