The 37th Memorial Concert

The 37th Memorial Concert was held at the Tamura Memorial Auditorium. Conducted by Hiroshi Yasutomi and Ueno no Mori Ensemble (an orchestra formed mainly by Tokyo University of the Arts university students and graduates).
This year’s program is Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54, 1st movement (Schumann), Concerto in E-flat major, Op. 109 (Graznov) for saxophone and string orchestra, Symphony No. 41, in C major, K.551 “Jupiter” ( Mozart). In the piano concerto, a second grade high school student, and in the saxophone concerto, a third grade high school student performed as a soloist with the orchestra. Soloists are selected at the school audition every year. Students who dream of co-starring with an orchestra will study hard day after day and attend auditions. The two soloists selected in this way led the orchestra with their unique performances, and the venue was wrapped in thunderous applause.
