JICA(Japan International Cooperation Agency)への研修生21名をお招きして本校生徒との交流会を開催しました。来校いただいた研修生は主に各国の統計局から派遣された方で、JICAではSDG’Sのための統計手法について研修されています。
JICAとは、発展途上国への技術協力、資金協力を主な業務とする外務省所轄の独立行政法人「国際協力機構」のことで、青年海外協力隊の派遣もJICAが行なっています。
本校では、JICAのご協力を得て毎年生徒との交流会を開催しています。交流会では、いくつかのグループに分かれて研修生の母国の事情について話し合い、相互理解を深めています。
参加生徒から寄稿がありましたのでご紹介をいたします。
First things first, hosting three JICA cultural exchange parties was
simply difficult. Having to come up with kanji characters for the JICA
participants’ names, creating discussion questions concerning the
SDGs, and organizing the event were all challenging for me. However,
the challenges made my experience all the more memorable. I would like
to thank all teachers, JICA staff, JICA participants, and most of all,
my fellow partner who made this wonderful experience possible.
What was so special about this activity was that Japanese students
could discuss world problems, not just among themselves but with
people from developing countries that bear the brunt of such problems.
I was grateful to have the opportunity to learn from each other about
our home countries.
People always say that we are the “next generation” — that we are the
ones to change the world for the better. But what does a better world
look like? Through this JICA experience, I gained a more crystallized
vision for the world I want to live in: a world where nobody is left
behind.
第一に、3つのJICA交流会を主催することは本当に大変な経験でした。
JICAスタッフの名前に漢字の当て字を考えたり、SDGに関するディスカッション用の質問を作ったりと、イベントの企画は骨が折れました。しかし一方で、それらの挑戦はこの経験をさらに思い出深いものにしてくれたように思います。この素晴らしい経験を可能にしてくれた全ての先生方、JICAスタッフ、参加者、そしてパートナーに感謝したいです。
この交流会の特に素晴らしいところは、生徒がその問題と直接関わる途上国の人々と世界の問題について話し合えることです。そしてお互いの母国について学ぶ機会を得られたことは非常に貴重な機会でした。
世間の人々は、私たちを「次世代」だと言います –
私たちは世界をより良い方向に変えていくべき人材だ、と。今までより良い世界は具体的にはどのようなのか曖昧でした。しかし私はこのJICAの経験を通して、住みたいと思う世界についての、より明確な理想像を得ることが出来ました。 ― 誰も取り残されない世界です。
